Margaret: Long Island tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a current Masters/PhD Candidate in Human Development and Applied Behavioral Analysis at the University of Rochester. I earned my Bachelor's Degree and first Master's of Special Education degree at Providence College in Rhode Island. I taught Elementary Special Education for two years in the Pittsford Central School District before choosing to return to school to further my career.
I am a friendly, interactive and enthusiastic tutor who wants to help students achieve their goals! My tutoring approach is not just about simply getting the best grades- it's about making these subjects interesting, relatable, and even fun in the hope that students enjoy the learning process, and therefore feel more motivated to study hard to earn their good grades. I can tailor lessons around the student's desires and goals, whether it be grasping the basics, explanations of complex concepts, or going through exam questions and SAT/AP prep. I strive to understand the preferred learning style of each individual student so that he/she feels comfortable and is able to remain engaged and learn in a way that suits them.
I hope to pass on my enthusiasm for learning to my students. I currently live and work in Rochester, NY and I am happy to travel to students within a reasonable distance.
