After graduating from Kansas State University in 2003, I worked in Pharmaceutical Research for almost a decade. I enjoyed working with patients, listening to concerns and trying to alleviate any worries they may have. My enjoyment of helping people has since led me to pursue a career in nursing, I am beginning classes to become a Registered Nurse in January 2018.

I have been a tutor in the past, I have about two years of experience working with middle to high school aged students. I am passionate about working with children because I want to make them feel good about themselves. The actual material and subject matter is important, but I believe mastery of academics comes with first gaining confidence and belief in one's self.

I have several years' experience working with special needs children aged 10-20. I have a unique ability to relate to people who have difficulties communicating with others. For those on the autism spectrum, I approach learning with an attitude of patience and encouragement. The time we spend together should be something to look forward to, not dreaded.
