Teaching should be a balance of both creativity and fact. I am passionate about teaching because I love bringing educational material to life through creative methods that inspire students to learn. My goal is to motivate individuals to achieve success in not only the area of difficulty, but also in all aspects of their lives.
I have a unique perspective on teaching because I am a current graduate student for speech-language pathology. My freshman year of college (2012), I attended Saint Bonaventure University for journalism and mass communication. I then transferred to the University at Buffalo to pursue speech and hearing sciences. I graduated from the University at Buffalo with a bachelor of arts in communicative disorders and sciences in 2016. I am now currently pursuing a master's degree in speech-language pathology at Buffalo State. I have clinical experience teaching an array of age ranges (from 3 years- old to 60 years-old) evidence based strategies/ techniques for a variety of areas. Specialty areas that I have more experience with are that of language literacy (anything relating to facilitating reading and writing at all levels) and public speaking. I like to understand what type of learner an individual is and then to integrate different forms of learning into lesson plans to have maximum learning potential.
Outside of academics, I love to spend time outside including going hiking and kayaking/ canoeing! I find nature to be very peaceful. Other hobbies I enjoy are leisure reading and cooking/baking. I look forward to meeting you and helping you reach your goals!
