Certified Tutor

As a tutor, what I can offer students is less complete omniscience, but more the ability to help them find the best way for them to connect to the subject they are working on. Through focusing on the mechanics of learning, the student will develop the skills to continue to excel in the subject beyond our tutoring sessions.

I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Reed College in 2012 and a Master of Science in Forest and Natural Resource Management from the State of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry. I will soon be starting a PhD in Forests: Biology, Ecology, Conservation, and Management at the University of Minnesota.

I have several years of teaching experience, ranging from high school biology to elementary-level environmental education to leading college-level science and math labs. The subjects that I have the most expertise in are biology, plant biology, ecology, forestry, statistics, geospatial information systems, and test prep. However, I am comfortable tutoring a wide range of topics beyond the sciences.
