Certified Tutor

I graduated from Northwest Nazarene University with a B.S. in Business Administration in 2009. During my time in school I had the opportunity to be a franchisee of a preschool music and movement and themed birthday party company. I was able to work, go to school and be with my then, three young girls. When my girls entered school full time I wanted a little more freedom in my schedule and closed my business. I chose to tutor for a local tutoring company and substitute teach for my local school districts. While doing so I realized my passion for Special Education. When I was offered a job as a part time paraprofessional working with special needs students at the school my girls attended, I could not pass up the opportunity. After working with this special population of students and realizing this was my passion, I went back to school. I graduated in May 2016 with a B.A. in Special Education K - 12 and a B.A. in Elementary Education K - 8. I love teaching. I love seeing my students embrace a new skill. I love seeing the confidence in the students I tutor locally, successfully complete their program. They know they can use the skills they gained in their classroom. As a teacher I have high expectations for my students. They must be engaged and take ownership over their goals. I expect them to work hard knowing I will work even harder for them. There is fun and joy in knowing you can learn!
