Haile: Essex County tutor
Certified Tutor
Hello! My name is Haile and I am a current graduate student studying mental health counseling at Adler University. As you can see from my enclosed resume, I have worked as an Elementary School Teacher’s Assistant working with children from pre-school age through fifth grade. As a teacher's assistant, I gained valuable experience planning and organizing classroom activities as well as ensuring that older students received adequate tutoring and homework help. This position equipped me with the skills to think quickly on my feet and organize a group of students. My goal as a tutor is to empower a student's personal growth and knowledge in a particular subject. I aim to work with the student to meet their needs and promote academic achievement. I strive to set attainable goals with my student that we can measure together over time.

What is your teaching philosophy?
I believe that every student has potential. When motivated, they can become successful students who are able to pursue their dreams
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I would want to go over what subjects they need help with. I would then go over problems with them to determine strengths and weaknesses. I would also want to get to know them better in terms of the best ways they can learn and what doesn't help.
How can you help a student become an independent learner?
I can help a student become an independent learner by providing them with tools and structure to allow them to have a foundation to promote independence.
How would you help a student stay motivated?
I aim to motivate students by providing them with tools and resources that they are interested in, such as specific subjects or ways of learning.
