Certified Tutor

I discovered tutoring while attending college at Fayetteville State University. I have always had a passion for assisting people in the learning process. I have taught English and ESL on every grade level so I am familiar with the many struggles present in the language. It is my obligation to prepare the future leaders of tomorrow with the most essential component for their success. One will never be completely successful in any field until they master the English language. In addition to my love for languages.I also enjoy reading, writing and traveling to new places.

I would listen to the student and allow them to tell me about the subject that they need tutoring in and how they feel about the subject.

How can you help a student become an independent learner?

Show the student different tools that can assist them in their success.

How would you help a student stay motivated?

I would compliment them on all successes, especially small ones.

If a student has difficulty learning a skill or concept, what would you do?

I would allow them to make up a song or dance while we were apart and incorporate the lesson in the song or dance.

What techniques would you use to be sure that a student understands the material?

I would have them explain it to me as if I were the student.

How do you build a student's confidence in a subject?

I reinforce every success in the class.
