I have a teaching certificate that allows me to teach French and Spanish at all levels. I am currently studying to be certified in Teaching English as a Second Language. I have 25 years of experience teaching in middle school; high school; elementary and college. I taught Spanish to professionals at Miami Dade College; English to professional adults at Florida Computer College, and French at Mississippi State University. I was the Department Head of Foreign Languages at a Division-1 High School, where I received National Awards for education. I was a full time teacher at the French Immersion Program and taught High School Spanish for Spanish speakers.
Opera, ballet, classical music, humanities and art are my favorite interests.
I am a born educator and I love to see my students succeed!

Keeping students goal-oriented is a way to show them their progress as they continue. Nothing tastes better than success.

Try different approaches in teaching the student.

Practice makes perfect. Key concepts, key ideas, and breaking down paragraphs into sentences or phrases that are more manageable.

What strategies have you found to be most successful when you start to work with a student?

Keeping the student at ease is of utmost importance. The most successful strategy is the one that works best for the individual. This would vary from person to person.

How would you help a student get excited/engaged with a subject that they are struggling in?

By connecting the subject to something relatable to them.

By asking questions and "testing" their knowledge.

Make them feel at ease, ask questions, and allow them to ask questions. I would also ask the student to communicate his/her expectations
