I've noticed that a lot of students aren't struggling to understand a concept, but rather are struggling to understand how the concept is being presented. By contextualizing learning to REAL problems, I find it much easier to make students care about what they are learning.... My teaching philosophy is really about not having a teaching philosophy. Every person is different, so applying the same philosophy to each person makes little sense. Rather, I strive to understand each person and tailor a teaching strategy to them.
