I am a recent graduate from The University of Georgia in Genetics with a minor in Math. I teach high school mathematics at an Austin area high school. I love teaching and I love math! My students think it's weird, but my desire is for them to love math a little bit more than when they start working with me. I am confident that everyone is able to learn math, and I feel blessed to be able to help them along in their journey! My favorite subject to teach is Algebra. I love how everything works together, and how students get great opportunities to further their problem solving skills!I graduated in 2011 with a mathematics degree with a teaching option from the University of Texas in Austin. I was a part of the UTeach program which began at UT Austin and has been replicated in over 20 major universities because of its effectiveness to produce quality teachers. I am honored to be a UTeach Alumni. I am also a certified high school mathematics teacher in the state of Texas. My university education and experience make me a highly qualified tutor.Yet, I wouldn't say my qualifications on paper are my greatest assets. I truly want to see all of my students succeed and grow as people and as learners. My personal commitment to my students is the greatest thing that pushes them to greater levels of learning.

My name is Andrew Heng, and I graduated from the University of California, Irvine in 2015. I am currently pursuing a career as a physician and will be applying to medical school in 2017. I enjoy meeting people of all ages and backgrounds and learning about their lives and experiences. I have always been an introspective person, and have constantly strived to improve myself as a person, along with the people that I choose to surround myself with. I hope to pass along the skills and knowledge that I have accumulated in my own academic path to younger students to help them succeed in their educational endeavors.

I am freshman at the University of Arizona. I am majoring in aerospace engineering with a minor in studio art. I have multiple years experience tutoring many different ages and skill levels in mathematics. My personal tutoring style is based upon guidance, not instruction. By teaching using concepts that a student already understands, it is possible for them to feel just as comfortable with new material as with basic mathematics.

I have been a tutor before I was ever paid to do it. A straight A high school student, I was always asked to help my brother with his studies, which didn't come as easily to him. When I was a peer tutor at Harvard University, I discovered how enjoyable and rewarding it was to help other people understand our school's Freshman computer requirement and how I could use my knowledge, skills, and tricks to help them break down and overcome a daunting goal.I was an officer in the U.S. Navy, where I learned to lead and teach people from all walks of life, and also saw first-hand how adding inspiration and encouragement helped our whole team do better and feel better about it. Since then, I've worked primarily as an entertainer, but I have remained a tutor, as well, bringing the empathy and humor that make me a successful singer, actor, and comedian to GMAT and SAT classrooms and private tutoring. I've been fortunate enough to be able to do some interesting things in my life, and I have meet so many amazing, diverse people along the way. Everything I've learned along the way informs my tutoring. I am not only a teacher, but also a coach and cheerleader. I love seeing people succeed and knowing that I helped. And it all began with my brother, who took the little bit of help I gave and ran with it and is now a successful Naval Commander!

I am a graduate of Penn State University. I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering from Virginia Commonwealth University, my Master's degree in Applied Statistics from Penn State University, and am working for another Master's degree in Systems Engineering at Old Dominion University. My tutoring experience consists of tutoring high school students in their math courses as well as tutoring college and graduate students in their math/statistics courses. The subjects that I tutor students in are Algebra I-II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Statistics, ACT/SAT Math, Calculus, Differential Equations, GRE Quantitative, and graduate-level statistics. These are my favorite subjects to tutor students in because they are subjects that I have a very good knowledge of and want to help people succeed in these areas. My methodology for tutoring people is as follows: [1] Find out exactly what parts of the math subject the student needs help with [2] Make a tentative schedule for going over the said parts. [3] Cover those parts to the point that the student has no more difficulties in the math subject. Outside of academia, my main hobbies consist of chess and running. I also have a tricolor Shetland Sheepdog named Captain.

I am a student at the Honors College at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, pursuing a degree in Computer Science and Business Analytics & IT. Some of the subjects I tutor are Algebra, Calculus I & II, and the SAT, but there are many more you can inquire about. I love tutoring students because I know how much a tutor can inspire a student to improve, and I hope to offer that to my own students. Some of my personal hobbies when not tutoring or studying are playing tennis and photography.

I graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Physiology. During my first two years in college, I played on the golf team for Pima Community College. Starting my junior year of college, I become a tutor for Pima, as well as a golf coach for The First Tee of Tucson. I love passing on my knowledge and skills to people in need. During my time at Pima, I found myself the most helpful when I tutor in Chemistry and Math. Math is a subject that has a special place in my heart; chemistry can be related to our everyday life, which sparked my interest. I believe that any question asked is a step closer to understanding the material, and I encourage my students to ask any question that can help resolve their confusion. I love playing golf, road biking, hiking, and eating delicious foods in my spare time.

I am currently a graduate student at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. When I am not studying, I enjoy practicing yoga, meditating, and hiking. I also like to tutor. I have been tutoring since I was in high school, helping classmates with homework, and I made a job out of it when I started college. As I majored in math, I tutor subjects like calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations. I also tutor high school physics and some college physics up to classical mechanics. All in all, I have a passion for helping others learn, and I believe that anyone can learn any subject with a little guidance!

I graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a BS in engineering physics, and a math minor. I have been tutoring for more than 6 years. For 2.5 years, I taught math to Cornell Engineering undergraduates, and I looked forward to it every week! On Varsity Tutors, I tutor up to college level mathematics and physics, test prep (including AP courses, and SAT reading/writing). Explaining difficult math and science concepts in plain English is my forte. I love teaching and will be glad to help anyone become an independent learner.
