I have earned both a BA in English Literature and most recently a Master's in Teaching, in which I was named the Outstanding Graduate from my cohort. I have experience instructing both in person and via online platforms, such as Zoom. Last year I taught 6th grade honors English and 8th grade English for a school in my local district. During my student teaching (which occurred during the height of the pandemic) I taught entirely virtually and learned how to form meaningful relationships with students even through a computer screen. In addition, I found ways to utilize technology effectively in order to keep engagement levels high. I have also worked with adult learners through my volunteer work, in which I helped prepare individuals to pass the essay portion of the GED. I am passionate about helping students grow their academic skillset and take pride in their creative work. I specialize in writing skills, such as editing/revising, college applications, grammar/punctuation, creative writing, and essay structure. As someone who has also won over half a dozen essay-based scholarships, I am confident in helping high school students apply for these opportunities to aid their academic pursuits.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, baking, hiking, and spending time with my family.
