Tutoring review by Milka in Summit Township, MI
I was able to evaluate the student's reading needs during our first session today. He does need review of some sounds and letter combinations in order to read faster, and we'll practice those together in future sessions. He needs to be very diligent when it comes to practicing reading, and that means reading 30 to 60 minutes every single day. I suggested he needs to read easy books to his pets as a warm-up, then move on to harder books for another 30 minutes. I also suggested that he practice words on flashcards and I left him a long list of words to practice.

Tutoring review by Kaitlyn in Summit Township, MI
We worked on some new things. I started getting the student a bit ahead at math with some linear algebra. He was already well versed in solving for variables, so linear algebra is one of the next steps. I gave him the slope-intercept form, and I had him work through what each of the variables meant, how to graph an equation, and what the graph represented. I was very impressed by how quickly he caught on to the whole concept, even if he had to go a bit slowly. We also did some more French, writing sentences with the verb etre for practice.

Tutoring review by Alvorine in Summit Township, MI
Reviewed H.W.; introduced more rules for some irregular nouns; introduced irregular verbs "ir/dar;" introduced rules for telling time; introduced days of the week; included exercises requiring translation from English to Spanish. Some exercises are challenging, but the student puts her all into them and tries hard to complete them on her own. H.W.: exercises on everything covered today. Next session will include more exercises regarding telling time so she will get more practice in that area.
