About Me

I am an experienced educator with over 15 years of teaching and tutoring across upper elementary, middle school, and high school, with a special passion for supporting young readers. My approach is calm, patient, and very step-by-step. I believe students learn best when they feel supported and not rushed, so I focus on breaking skills into clear, manageable pieces and modeling strategies they can use independently. In elementary reading, I help students build strong foundations in phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. I guide them through sounding out words, recognizing patterns, using context clues, and talking about what they read in meaningful ways. I also support students who feel overwhelmed or unsure of themselves by creating a warm, encouraging environment where questions are welcome and small successes are celebrated. My goal is always to help students feel capable, confident, and proud of their progress. I love watching young readers grow not just in skill, but in excitement and belief in themselves.
