Tyler

An admissions reader for "Public Ivies" UC-Berkeley and University of North Carolina, Tyler has spent more than 15 years working in higher education across universities, nonprofit organizations, federal service, and community based programs. She holds a Master's degree in Student Affairs and Higher Education and "all but dissertation" status in an Ed.D. program in Higher Education Administration. A lifelong learner, she has seen frequently and firsthand how access to elite education can transform lives, and loves nothing more than helping students find the perfect path in their own educational journey.

One of my favorite hobbies is traveling because I enjoy experiencing new places and learning about different cultures. I currently have a goal of collecting shot glasses from every state and so far I have collected them from around 20 states. I have also had the opportunity to travel overseas to both Ghana and South Africa, which helped expand my perspective and appreciation for different cultural experiences. I enjoy trying food from different cultures and one of my current favorites is hot pot because I enjoy the shared experience that comes with it. Spending quality time with my family is also very important to me whether we are visiting new places or simply relaxing together at home. In my free time I enjoy watching C dramas because I appreciate the storytelling and cultural elements within them. I also write and perform poetry and have had opportunities to perform professionally, which has allowed me to express myself through spoken word. Music has always been a major part of my life and whenever I have free time I am usually somewhere dancing and vibing to music which helps me relax and recharge.
