About Me

My name is Sophie Slade (she/they) and I am a freelance tutor with over 10 years of experience in tutoring academic subjects for Primary through University students, with a specialty in ESL, Spanish Language, and Writing. I hold a BA and MA in International Relations and Spanish, with over 10 years of Spanish learning and speaking. I pride myself on providing personalized academic tutoring by designing a curriculum tailored to the unique needs of my students. I teach private and online Spanish lessons customized to students' level, including homework supervision, conversation classes, and exam preparation; in addition, I offer counseling guidance to students on their academic career, aligning their choices with their individual academic and professional aspirations, prioritizing the students' desires. I also enjoy leading workshops and individual one-on-one sessions for students focused on creating and building up resumes, writing cover letters, and practicing writing samples (both for student's higher education and professional aspirations). In addition, I am an experienced freelance copyeditor/writer, and am happy to provide you with copyediting/proofreading for personal, professional and academic materials, and help you gain experience in resume and cover letter writing, website writing and editing academic theses.
