About Me
As an educator, I strongly believe in learning by doing and empowering students to take charge of their own education. I am a life-long learner and am constantly seeking out new experiences and teaching methods which is why I have always been drawn to science. I have diverse teaching experience from teaching at an outdoor center and natural history focused camps to assisting graduate students with research projects to five years teaching science at a public junior high school. I have a Master of Arts in Teaching, a Master of Science in entomology, and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science. I have a teaching license in middle level science and math. I strive to connect with my students by relating complex concepts to real-world applications, making learning both engaging and relevant. I am dedicated to helping all students succeed academically. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy exploring the natural world, which further enriches my teaching of environmental science.
Hobbies & Interests
I really enjoy being outside whether it is on a river, camping in the Ozark Mountains or taking a ride on the bike trail. I am a book worm and am usually drawn to historical fiction. I enjoy cooking especially with my family.
