About Me

I am passionate about helping students discover their own love for learning. I believe that education is a lifelong journey, and when students embrace curiosity and persistence, they build the foundation for success in every area of life. I aim to create a positive learning environment where students feel encouraged, confident, and capable of reaching their full potential. My teaching philosophy is student-centered. I believe learning is most meaningful when students are active participants in their education. My tutoring style focuses on collaboration, patience, and tailoring each lesson to meet individual needs while building on students' strengths. I enjoy tutoring a wide range of subjects, but my favorites are math, language arts, and reading. I see math as an engaging puzzle and love guiding students to understand and solve problems with confidence. I'm equally passionate about language arts and reading because I believe developing a love for reading opens doors to creativity, imagination, and lifelong learning. I am a member of the Kentucky Department of Education and a senior at the University of the Cumberlands, pursuing a degree in P-5 Elementary Education with an emphasis in Social and Behavioral Studies. I will graduate this Spring and plan to begin my master's degree soon after. I bring a variety of experiences working with children, including coaching youth soccer, running co-op learning groups, homeschooling my own children, and conducting classroom observations in elementary schools where I have also taught lessons. These experiences have strengthened my ability to connect with students of different learning styles and help them grow academically and personally. Outside of academia, I love reading, exploring the outdoors, listening to music, cooking, gardening, and spending time with my family.
