About Me

I specialize in tutoring high school Chemistry(regular/Honors/Advanced/AP/IB). I earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Valparaiso University &an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Michigan, where I taught General Chemistry & Technical Writing as a graduate student. I worked in laboratory & technical roles in industry, which helps me connect chemistry to real-world applications & problem-solving. I also tutor math skills that support chemistry success, especially Algebra & using formulas. Chemistry can feel overwhelming because it combines new vocabulary, abstract concepts, & multi-step calculations. I help students build strong foundations & a reliable approach to solving problems through clear explanations, real-life examples, & practice with homework & test-style questions. Topics include dimensional analysis, stoichiometry, gas laws, solutions, acids/bases, thermochemistry, equilibrium, & kinetics. I emphasize clear work, unit-based setups, & asking "Does that answer make sense?"
