About Me

Teaching has been a lifelong endeavor for me. Playing school was clearly my favorite childhood activity! I couldn't contain my excitement and anticipation when I got the opportunity to teach pre-schoolers at my church during my college years. From student teaching in first grade, beginning my career in fourth grade, tackling kindergarten through COVID, many years of pre-k sprinkled throughout, to ESL students at my church, I have had the honor to teach most ages and a variety of subjects. While loving to teach anything, I lean into language arts and social studies. It thrills me to figure out ways to help students grasp challenging concepts and attain their individual goals. I obtained my bachelor's degree in humanities with teacher certification at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO and taught public school for 27 years.
