About Me

I was born and raised in Italy in the Veneto region. I graduated with a teaching degree from the Istituto Magiastrale R. Rompato in Schio. I at the age of 27 and earned a degree in Interpreter for the Deaf from GPC. I have experience teaching Italian as native speaker in college and teaching American Sign Language (ASL) students and college for 14 years. I was born hearing, but I have become hard of hearing. I love teaching because the relationship between student and teacher is crucial for learning. I love teaching Italian because is my native language and sharing my culture makes me happy. I love teaching ASL because I am married to Willie who is deaf and ASL and Deaf Culture have become part of my life and who I am. I teach my students to be respectful learners when learning a foreign language as respect and an open mind is the correct approach for genuine learning. The students are the center of my teaching philosophy keeping in mind teacher and students are collaborating to create fun, meaningful, and long-lasting learning experiences.
