5+ years of tutoring
Tonya
- As a child playing school with my younger siblings, I never dreamed I would one day become an actual teacher.
- It was when I enrolled in my first education classes that I realized the passion I had for teaching.
About Me
Many years later, I graduated from Western KY University where I obtained my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and then went on to become a graduate of University of the Cumberlands Master's program where I got my degree in Education Administration. I became absorbed in it. I truly desired to help every student that I could. Since then, I have taught 16 years at an elementary school. During those years, I taught second, third, fourth grade classrooms and first grade reading and math intervention. After leaving the elementary school, I went to work at an adult education center working with students over the age of 18 years old. At the adult education center, I tutored students and helped them passed their GED exams. I also taught ESL family classes, Family Literacy and Digital Literacy classes. I believe in life long learning for everyone at every age. In addition, I believe with all my heart that everyone can learn!
