I am a graduate of East Carolina University with a B.S. in Child Development and Family Relations and also a graduate of Mount Olive College with a B.S. in Human Resource Development. I am a retired veteran of the Air Force. I am currently working as a middle school (6-8) Science teacher. I have also taught 7th grade Social Studies, Exceptional Children Separate (K-5) and Pre-K. I was nominated Teacher of the Year 2018 and 2022 on the elementary and middle school level. I believe that all students can learn and have something to offer society. I try to incorporate various learning styles , points of view and cultural experiences in whatever I teach. I enjoy teaching Science and Social Studies the most but I try to incorporate Reading and Math as much as possible. I am passionate about students being able to demonstrate their learning through a variety of methods (hands on, visual, musical) I have been in education for over 24 years and I learn just as much from my students as they learn from me.
