Back then, my English was limited, but I had the good fortune of meeting professors and tutors who spent some extra time with me and helped me succeed along the way. I graduated from the University of Dayton in Ohio with a major in Business Administration and a minor in Education. Because I saw the impact that people could have in students' lives, I decided I wanted to dedicate my life to teaching. I have been teaching for over 20 years, from junior high all the way to college, which is my current job. I like tutoring Spanish and ESL (we call it EAP at the college level English for Academic Purposes) since those are the subjects I teach. I am also passionate about Math, and although I do not have a degree in that subject, I have taken many courses at the college level for my own personal enrichment. I believe that learning from a teacher and from a tutor is the perfect combination for many students who need the extra time to process knowledge at their own speed and the right setting to feel secure about asking questions without being afraid.
