About Me
Over the course of my career, I have taught in an urban school district 23 years spending most of that time in upper elementary, 4th and 5th grades but have also taught 3rd grade and worked with teachers as a District and Building Instructional Coach. In my tenure, I've had many opportunities to work with great minds in the education field that have influenced my teaching to this day. I am well-versed in differentiated instruction and balanced literacy. This means I am able to adapt and reach learners of all levels. As a tutor, I can help students become a stronger mathematician or reader. I absolutely love sharing authentic literature with my tutoring students to help foster that love of reading. Math I enjoy teaching with manipulatives and being sure that my students understand the why behind the math. Math is more than just computation but making sense of the world. In my spare time, I love to read, cook, travel, and spend time with my family.
