Certified, licensed, experienced, and patient delivering proven results in a supportive learning space. Hi. I'm Kelly--English teacher and tutor. I hold both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts in English from the University of Central Arkansas and am licensed to teach middle and high school in Arkansas. Over the past 16 years, I have taught composition and literature at colleges in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, including Oklahoma State University Oklahoma City and Collin College in Dallas. My teaching experience also extends to younger learners, having served as a substitute teacher in a local elementary school, and I have worked with students from kindergarten through college. I have taught in a variety of settings from small rural community colleges to large metropolitan campuses and now bring that versatility to online tutoring. While I have guided students in subjects ranging from poetry to film, my primary focus is reading skills and composition. I am especially proud of a step-by-step essay writing method I developed, which has helped students build confidence and improve performance for many years. As a lifelong learner, I am passionate about creating a safe, engaging environment where students can take risks, ask questions, and grow as thinkers and writers. I strive to bring the same energy and enthusiasm I brought to the in-person classroom into every online session, helping students not only reach but exceed their goals.
