I became a tutor because I believe it is important for students to build a strong foundation at a young age and for some students, that is done best outside of a traditional classroom. Prior to working for Varsity Tutors, I worked as an instructor at Mathnasium, and as a freelance tutor for a few years. I have experience working with students from elementary through high school, and primarily focus on math. My goal as a tutor is to give the student the understanding and confidence to be able to solve problems without assistance so I try to allow them to think through solutions on their own and provide assistance when necessary rather than simply giving answers.
