I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Musical Theater, specializing in children's performance and puppetry, and have spent over a decade merging my love for the arts with my passion for education. My background includes teaching preschool, developing interactive ESL lessons online, and touring puppet shows that introduced kids to everything from early literacy to simple STEM concepts. Throughout my career, I've seen how music, movement, and playful problem-solving can completely transform a child's approach to reading and learning. By using a research-based, speech-to-print methodology, I guide children to recognize and segment sounds before they see letters on the page. This child-centered approach empowers them to take ownership of their learning, making reading feel less like a chore and more like an exciting discovery. Whether we're belting out songs to memorize sight words or acting out word families with silly voices, the "fun factor" is always intentional and grounded in proven teaching principles. My teaching philosophy is that every student deserves a joyful entry point into literacy, and a sense of personal accomplishment that follows them well beyond the page. Outside of the classroom, I spend time writing music, producing puppet shows, and exploring how different art forms can enhance children's educational experiences. I look forward to helping students discover that reading can be as entertaining as their favorite game or showand that with the right approach, every word can be an adventure.
