About Me

I began my college career by majoring in the Spanish language at Howard University. However, I graduated from Ashford University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management with a concentration in Foreign Languages. After obtaining my undergraduate degree, I completed a Master of Science degree in Education for English Language Learning and Teaching. Currently, I have been pursuing a Ph.D. in Education for Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, I received a certification in Elementary Education K-6 and ESOL K-12 as well as a Reading Endorsement. I have had teaching and tutoring experience in all core content areas, including math. Also, I have taught and tutored elementary and middle school students for over ten years. I worked extensively as an ESOL teacher for students in Kindergarten thru eighth grade. In particular, I assisted students in the arena of English Language Acquisition, English Language Arts, Reading, and Writing, focusing on Science and Social Studies in the content area. Finally, I have had experience instructing students in learning strategies for state standardized testing. As a teacher and a tutor, I endeavored to help students recognize their strengths while working toward their personal and academic goals.
