I'm a pre-health student at the University of Pennsylvania, and have an extensive background in the sciences. I can also rock the SATs and MCAT, so I've got that going for me. I love learning with students and trying to make the tedious work of learning as fun as possible. I think and teach in examples and make abstract concepts easily understandable. I am a recent graduate of Yale University and incoming first year medical student at Columbia University. Originally from the DC area, I have always had a passion for science and medicine and pursued a degree in Biology while at Yale. I am currently working in a biochemistry lab at NYU Medical Center and applying to medical school, with hopes of training to be a pediatric surgeon in the future. I have worked as a teaching assistant for a Columbia biology lab course, taught ESL to immigrants from China, and tutored extensively in math, science, and test prep. I especially enjoy tutoring science because I believe that sometimes a little bit of personalized attention can go a long way when students are missing just one or two key points of understanding. I am a graduate of The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. I received a Bachelor of Arts in Biology (Neurobiology concentration), a Bachelor of Science in Economics (Healthcare Management and Policy concentration), and a Master's in Biology. I am currently in a gap year applying to medical schools. I have been tutoring for almost 5 years since high school. I have taught a variety of ages from elementary school all the way to college age students with multiple subjects, but mostly math and science. My favorite subjects to tutor are physics and chemistry because I believe that after learning about some of these topics, it is super interesting to see how the theories and laws that you learn in class apply in the real world! I would describe my teaching style as primarily example based. I try and pull up real world applications and examples of questions that may come up in their testing and have students work to solve them. I am currently a senior at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and I am double majoring in Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development and French. I am pre-med, so I do hope to go to medical school next year and am currently in the process of applying. I graduated from Hinsdale Central High School in 2012, and there I was a member of the National Honors Society which was my first experience with tutoring. I am currently a volunteer at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital, and I help patients and siblings with homework and reading there, as well.

I am a senior undergraduate student at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities studying Genetics, Cell Biology and Development. After graduation, I will attend medical school (where is still being determined), where my goal is to become an academic physician who both cares for patients and educates residents and medical students. My favorite subjects are biology and chemistry, but I enjoy physics and humanities courses as well. I am a current graduate student at Boston University getting my Masters of Science in Medical Sciences and will be applying to medical school this year. I'm Felipe. I am a 3rd year pre-med college student studying Biomedical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. I first discovered my passion for teaching a few years ago when I began tutoring ACT and SAT for a tutoring company in my hometown of Frisco. Since then, I have gotten deeply involved with teaching. I have gotten to volunteer for non-profit college organizations at underserved Austin elementary schools to encourage kids to go into STEM, I have gotten to help teach for an introductory biomedical engineering laboratory class at UT, and I have been employed by UT's Engineering Student Services to tutor other students in organic chemistry for well over a year. In that time, I have found that I especially enjoy working with high school and college students. My journey as a student is far from over, so everything I teach is something that I have been right in the middle of learning recently. My favorite subject to tutor is organic chemistry. It is something I've been teaching for a long time, and it's a subject I've gotten to understand well. Other subjects I love to tutor include biology, chemistry, physics, and all math through calculus; my career path has required me to synthesize all these subjects rather well. ACT/SAT test prep is also something I enjoy teaching and is something I have experience with. I have started to offer MCAT tutoring, as it is one of the more rigorous exams I have had success with, and a skill I would love to pass on to other aspiring physicians.

I am a graduate of Northeastern University, where I majored in Biochemistry and minored in Literature and Psychology. I grew up just outside of Worcester, MA, and I have tutored for several years. I started tutoring ninth-grade Biology when I was in tenth grade, continued with elementary school children in Reading, Math and Science, and most recently I tutored high school students in Boston in Chemistry, Pre-calculus and Algebra. I have always loved math and science.
