I am an experienced and well-qualified essay coach, and a tutor in language arts and German. I also tutor students who are preparing for the SAT. I earned my B.A. in Comparative Literature from Columbia University and an M.A. in German from UC Berkeley, where I taught college German and received training in foreign language pedagogy. I love to learn, I am drawn to travel, and the experiences I have had enrich my work as a tutor. For me, tutoring is about more than making the grade or getting the right score; I always strive to foster insights and new skills that will help my students take charge of their own education.

I am currently a sophomore studying Psychology and German at Carleton College. I have experience working with high school students helping them do homework in various subjects, but I would love to expand my experiences with tutoring and focus on teaching elementary and middle schoolers. I'm a junior at Yale University pursuing a double major in Linguistics and Theater. I'm working towards my PhD in Marine Science at Stony Brook University (NY), doing research in the field of marine biogeochemistry. That's a bit of a mouthful, but basically it means I study the way living things interact with the chemistry of the ocean, and how that interaction gets recorded in mud and rock. Based on this expertise, I enjoy tutoring in general science, chemistry, and earth science.

I am a third year electrical engineering student at Princeton University, with a focus in applied physics, and minors in German studies and history. I want to tutor because I am always excited about learning new things, and I want to share this with students of all ages. I find that this way, a student can do difficult work, excel, and feel both accomplished and happy. I have a broad range of specialties, from physics, to programming in Java and C, to German, to test prep and college applications help. I also love workshopping all kinds of writing, whether personal or academic. Some of my qualifications include physics research at a Max Planck Institute and acceptances to Harvard and UC Berkeley. I am a recent UCLA graduate and I double majored in German and Philosophy. I graduated with departmental honors for both of my majors, as well as college honors. I also studied at Humboldt Universitt Berlin. While my majors seem very niche, they helped me develop great argumentative writing skills as well as an attention to detail. I am also currently applying to law schools.

I am currently working on my PhD in English Literature at Southern Methodist University. I specialize in the intersection between ancient texts and Christianity as it is evident in Renaissance literature. During my MA I worked as a teacher's assistant, learning teaching strategies from many distinguished professors. Students met with me one on one to discuss assignments, work on papers, and review for tests. During these years I had the opportunity to work with several ESL students and students with disabilities. Being deaf in my right ear gives me a unique perspective when working with students struggling with disabilities because I have fought those battles myself, albeit to a smaller degree than some. I firmly believe that disabilities should never stand in the way of learning.

I am a graduate from Boston College studying Psychology, Pre-medicine and German. During my undergraduate education I tutored in health sciences, English and did extensive general and research paper editing for grammar, content and format.

I am currently a Master's in Education Candidate at Northwestern University, and will begin teaching high school biology in Chicago this upcoming fall. I completed my undergraduate degree at Northwestern University in 2019, majoring in both Biological Sciences (concentrating in Genetics and Genomics) and in German. I'm a recent graduate with a BS in chemistry and currently a PhD student in materials science. While I've always been fascinated with math and chemistry, they didn't come easy for me. I've had great teachers and tutors who helped me build a solid foundation in the physical sciences and inspire me to pay that forward.

I am from Austria and my native language is German. I live with my family in the South of Boston. I have a European College education and a PhD in Political Sciences from Paris Lodron University in Salzburg. My minor was History. In addition, I went back to school for a Master in Business Administration later. I am excited about tutoring German and/or European History, either online or in person. I did this a lot back in Europe and worked very successfully with students. My last student was my own son whom I tutored from 2012-2016 in German so he does not lose it. In my "real" life job I am an Executive Assistant. I am a well organized person with a passion to pass on my knowledge and socialize with people from different cultures. In my free time I love to read, to cook, hang out with friends, listen to music. My sportive self loves kayaking, spinning and yoga.

I am a graduate of Northwestern University, where I completed a BA in Cognitive Science (Neuroscience concentration) as well as a BMus and Masters degree in Voice and Opera Performance. I tutor test prep for the SATs and ACTs, as well as math for all ages. I excel particularly in writing and editing and love tutoring in the humanities. I'm New York City born and raised. I graduated from the University of Chicago last year with a degree in East Asian Languages and Civilizations. I am developing my own teaching methods to evolve traditional East Asian and French language acquisition, and to do this I need even more experience. My course of study has been directed at learning as much as I can about the culture, economy, and history of East Asia, China and Japan in particular. I view myself as someone who is entrepreneurial, collegial, individually motivated to produce high quality work, as well as foster a love of the subject which I teach. I am compassionate and enjoy working with both children and adults. I believe I have something to learn from everyone I meet.

I'm a PhD at Harvard studying German philosophy and classics (Greek and Latin). Next year, I will be starting law school to pursue my professional passion, tax law. I am deeply committed to the language and LSAT skills I've developed and I love to tutor students of all levels in these subjects. I can't imagine a life without teaching. My favorite part of teaching is helping students come to love -- or at least appreciate -- the details that make up complex subject matters. My favorite moment with any student is when the student realizes how fascinating a subject matter is after really mastering all of the "dry" details. When my students start internalizing the LSAT or languages I am teaching them, I know I am doing my job.

I am a UCLA Bioengineer. I am a well qualified tutor and have had many years of experience in both paid and unpaid roles from 6th grade to 12 grade to present. I have always excelled in academics, math, writing, and english and have scored well on all standardized tests and state tests. I have scored 800/800 in SAT 1 math, SAT 2 math. I have scored 760/800 in SAT writing. I received scores of 5/5 in AP Calculus AB and BC and have taken numerous other APs, passing the APs in Physics, Biology, Literature, Language and Composition, Environmental Science, Economics, US history, and Chemistry. I was the President of my high school's only tutoring club and only math club, Infinity Math Club, where I dedicated my time tutoring struggling students in all math levels. I double majored in Classics & Ancient Mediterranean Studies and History with honors, and I received minor degrees in German and Global Studies. Since graduation, I have worked at a historical museum, travelled throughout California and Oregon as the guitarist of a surf band, and have been working at Bloomberg as a Financial Analyst at their Skillman, NJ campus.
