I'm a sophomore at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Physics and Classics and minoring in Mathematics and Computer Science. I'm qualified to teach a wide variety of subjects, but prefer to focus on the fields I'm studying in school listed above; I have a passion for those areas that I want to share with everyone, no matter the education level or confidence. I believe that no one is "bad at math," but many people haven't been taught math and science concepts in a way that matches how they best learn. As a result, I try to tailor my teaching style to be the best it can be for each individual student. With regard to math and physics, I myself prefer a physical, graphical understanding of different concepts, so I do best at explaining what seemingly abstract concepts actually mean in the real world and how they act on a graph.

I am currently a freshman at the University of Notre Dame pursuing a degree in finance. I went to Marquette University High School in Milwaukee, WI where I served as a student tutor for two years. I have always been a highly ambitious student and strive to learn in everything I do. In high school I became enthralled with my ACT exams, embracing the challenge and being reinvigorated with each improvement I could make; over the course of a year, I self-studied from a 21 to a 34 and even had fun doing it! With that score I was able to attend Columbia University where I received two BAs: one in Archaeology and the other in Classics with a focus on Latin. In each step of my educational journey, I have been interested in accessibility and have been passionate about spreading information as widely as I can. I am now pursuing an MA at Columbia's Teacher's College in Anthropology and Education, specializing in the experiences of Neurodivergent learners.

I'm an electrical engineering major at Brown University with interests in neuroscience, linguistics, and robotics, among other things. I've always loved learning, and my curiosity has led me through numerous subject areas. I constantly seek to apply my classroom learning in practical situations. For example, I have conducted research on dementia using electrophysiology in a mollusk model. I participate in hackathons and robotics challenges that test not only my programming ability but also my hardware skills as a tinkerer. My engineering pursuits require a strong foundation in mathematics, my interest in the life sciences calls for a myriad of memorization techniques, and my participation in the academic world at large reminds me daily of the importance of sharp writing skills. I hope to share some of these things, both content and technique, with my students. Though I will make sure that they can come away from each session armed with the skills needed to take on the modern education system, I also hope that they will take with them some appreciation for learning itself.

I attend the University of Houston majoring in Biomedical Engineering. Every exam taken at UH was administered through the CASA facilities; for every test there were CASA Tutoring Sessions where I volunteered for every exam in all my classes and absolutely love it! Although I did help students that were in my science classes (BIO and CHEM), I would say my strongest subject is Mathematics, particularly Calculus. I have taken Calculus - Calculus 3 and will be continuing my Math enrichment with Differential Equations this fall semester. There's no bigger pleasure than seeing a pupil exceed in a subject he or she is struggling with. And it would be my pleasure to fully dedicate my time to anybody needing help with Mathematics and Foreign Languages. I have kept all my Calculus notes, workbooks, and textbooks, as well as many French and Spanish vocabulary workbooks ready to open and study! Please feel free to ask absolutely anything. I am looking forward to teaching everybody who is ready to learn!

My style is that of guide, coach and fellow explorer not that of lecturer. I am a graduate of the University of Washington, where I received Bachelor of Arts degrees in music theory and in classical languages (Latin and Greek). I obtained my teaching credentials for secondary mathematics at Western Washington University. Recently I earned my TEFL at the International TEFL Academy in Barcelona. I have worked with a wide variety of students, including elementary and high school, college and adults. I have led large classes of over 30 people, small groups and individuals. I have helped students learn and improve in a variety of subjects, mathematics, language, physics, music and more. I love to travel, experience new cultures and learn new languages. Currently I am learning about the culture of the Czech Republic and their language.

I have always loved school and have always had a passion for helping others. From a very young age, I especially loved to read, not only for myself but to others. I look forward to working with students and helping them to reach their goals, whatever they may be.

I have a PhD from Brown University and an MPhil from the University of Oxford, both in Classics. My area of specialty is the Late Antique Latin poet Claudian and his works. I am also the Assistant Director of the Writing Program and Writing Center at a small liberal arts college, where I teach academic writing, first year seminar, and topics in expository writing. Helping students learn the habits of mind that are needed to express and develop their thoughts at a college level is the core of my job, and something that I take great enjoyment out of. I believe that communication should not be delegated to AI but should remain a uniquely human function-- that said, writing is hard! I will always work to normalize and validate the struggle of learning to write and can't promise any easy fixes or quick tips. I can promise to help students take control of the writing process and begin to uncover their own voices.
