The student and I covered how to find the volume of shapes by integrating the cross-sectional area along an axis.

Using flashcards, we reviewed 12's and 9's multiplication facts, addition of 9, and addition of consecutive numbers, as well as various troubling multiplication facts. After reviewing, the student did another addition Holy Card with greater success than last session. Word problems involving division with remainders were reviewed while working his homework. He seems to be more confident in this area. We also reworked an old test involving the concept of graphs. He seems to have a much better understanding now. I left some extra practice was left with him for 9 x 6, 9 x 7, their twins, and 7 + 5. He is such a pleasure to work with, always giving his best.

The student completed the rest of the practice problems for decimals. These were word problems that used decimal principles to complete. He did well with these problems, so we moved on to our next unit: Measurement. I taught him the differences between metric and customary units, and we reviewed customary capacity, length, and weight units. I taught him how to convert within those units and he worked on practice problems. He understood the conversions for length easily, but he struggled with converting the volume problems, so we will review that next time.

We covered active/ passive voice and context clues for comprehension. The student got the passive voice mixed up with the past tense at first, but after a few practice sentences she understood it. She did very well with the context clues exercise and enjoyed the book that we used for practice.

The student completed her assignment over piecewise functions. We focused on finding domain and range of a graph and how to determine the components of a piecewise function from a graph.

The student and I continued his online schooling and completed sections of his Algebra, English, and World Geography.
