Hello! My love for storytelling and language began in childhood, and I fostered it by pursuing a Bachelor's degree in English at Baylor University. My teaching philosophy centers around fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment where students can connect with literature and develop essential skills like effective communication, empathy, critical thinking, and self-advocacy. These skills will be beneficial to my students no matter what their interests are or what career path they choose. I am particularly motivated by the progress and confidence I see in my students as they learn to navigate the written word more independently. Outside of teaching, I sing in a choir and enjoy nature walks. I also spend free time exploring different literary genres and writing poetry, which further enriches my ability to connect with my students. I look forward to working with you!
