I find all forms of writing interesting and some actually fascinating. When I look at the myriad number of ways words, syntax, and grammar can be shaped to share amazing thoughts, stories, and ideas, I'm always energized to go try something new. I loved learning the results of a survey of 100 writers that asked them to describe their 'writing process' show that only two reported using something that was similar. The writing voice is unique to each writer and to develop it he or she at some point needs to stock that writer's toolbox with the particular skills that work for him or her. The play of organizing a sentence--the discovery that the way all its parts can be put together has as many possibilities as manners of speech you might hear walking down a busy large city boulevard-- contributes to enriching a writer's work. Devoting time to find which techniques work for you, but then also to go on to discover new ones-- is one of the most important gifts any writer can give him- or herself.
