Helping students succeed is one of the most rewarding experiences I've had, and it's what drives my passion for tutoring. I believe that every student has the potential to grow with the right guidance, encouragement, and tools. What I enjoy most is watching students build confidencenot just in the material, but in their ability to solve problems, think critically, and advocate for their own learning.
My experience working with students includes both academic and informal settings. I've helped classmates improve their historical writing and analytical skills, guided students through primary source analysis, and offered structured support on complex topics in U.S. and world history. In each case, I focused on helping them become more independent and thoughtful learners.
I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in History from a four-year university, with an expected graduation in the near future. My coursework has given me a strong foundation in historical research, writing, and interpretation. I tutor U.S. History, World History, Civics, and writing skills across the humanities. My favorite subject to tutor is U.S. History because of the way it helps students make sense of contemporary issues through a deeper understanding of the past. I enjoy connecting historical events to the present in a way that's both engaging and empowering for learners.
My tutoring philosophy is rooted in patience, adaptability, and student-led exploration. I use questioning techniques and real-world examples to guide students toward their own understanding. Whether through the Socratic method, collaborative brainstorming, or step-by-step walkthroughs, I strive to meet each student where they are and help them build from there.
Outside of academia, I enjoy reading, exploring local history, and spending time outdoors. I'm also interested in public history and museum work, which adds another layer of excitement when helping students engage with the past.
