My passion for teaching the skills of careful reading and confident writing comes from my sustained engagement with classic texts of philosophy and literature. I am pursuing a career in academia with the intention of helping students grapple with the existential relevance of the moral and political problems raised by these texts. I have remote and in-person teaching experience in academic and non-academic settings.
As a writing tutor at the University of Chicago, I led remote seminars teaching academic writing skills to college freshmen, and discussion groups covering assigned course material. As a PhD student in political science at the University of Houston, I lead class discussion groups, and meet with students individually to discuss how to improve the clarity and persuasiveness of their writing.
