My passion for helping students is rooted in a belief that education is the most powerful tool for creating lasting change. Over my 24-year career in education, I have had the privilege of witnessing countless "aha" moments, where students break through barriers and realize their potential. I am driven by a deep commitment to fostering an environment where students feel supported and empowered to achieve their goals. Throughout my years as a teacher, administrator, and educational leader, I have seen firsthand how individualized attention and tailored instruction can profoundly impact students' lives, and this motivates me to continue supporting each student's unique journey.
My experience spans teaching various subjects and age groupsfrom middle and high school English and reading to college-level courses and standardized test preparation for the PSAT, ACT, SAT, GMAT, and GRE. I began my career teaching English in traditional classrooms, eventually expanding into online instruction for a wider range of ages and needs. I have also developed and led curriculum initiatives as a Director of Curriculum and Instruction, supporting teachers in curriculum design and instructional strategies. Through these experiences, I have honed my ability to meet students where they are academically, while challenging them to exceed their own expectations.
My academic journey began with a master's degree in Literature, and I later earned a Doctorate in Education, which has equipped me with the skills to bridge theory with practice effectively. I also have a certification in business analytics from Southern Methodist University to deepen my skills in data-driven decision-making, which is especially relevant as I work with educational platforms and assessment strategies.
As a tutor, I focus on English, reading, writing, and test preparation, with a particular enthusiasm for AP English Language & Composition. English is my favorite subject to tutor because it allows students to develop skills that are critical not only academically but also for effective communication throughout their lives. I enjoy helping students explore their voices through writing, understand complex texts, and build their confidence in analysis and expression.
My teaching philosophy is grounded in student-centered learning and creating an inclusive, adaptive environment. I believe in listening first and tailoring my instruction to each student's needs, strengths, and challenges. My style is collaborative and supportive, encouraging students to ask questions, make mistakes, and view learning as a continuous process of growth. In tutoring, I integrate real-world applications and strategic problem-solving skills to make lessons engaging and relevant.
Outside academia, I enjoy exploring innovative ways to integrate STEAM into early childhood education. I am also passionate about reading, staying informed about the latest trends in educational technology, and spending time with my family. These interests keep me inspired and motivated to bring fresh ideas and a balanced perspective to my work in education.

When I'm not deep in the education realm, I’m usually on a mission to decode the secrets of making STEAM irresistible for preschoolers—because, really, if we can get them more excited about science than snack time, that’s a big win. I’m also a proud bookworm, staying in the loop with the latest in educational tech, and sneaking those insights into my work whenever I can. Plus, I have this knack for collecting certifications like some people collect rare coins. I’ve dipped into fields like Business Intelligence Analytics and even financial planning—because who says you can’t mix a love for data and financial savvy with a career in education? And when the books are closed and certifications are framed, my favorite thing is hanging out with my family. They remind me that while learning is life, love and laughter is essential.
