Certified Tutor

I am a student at Purdue University working on my Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Health Science. After I attain my B.S. I plan on going to medical school or graduate school. I tutor a wide variety of subjects (not geometry or physics), from Kindergarten to 8th grade. My favorite subjects to teach are biology and English. I have a lot of experience working with students and young children. During my many years as a babysitter/nanny, I often helped the kids that I was watching with their homework. I am very passionate about education and sharing my knowledge with others which is why I enjoy tutoring. I know how frustrating it can be to not understand a concept at school, especially when it feels like everyone else understands it. For many years I struggled silently in school because I was afraid to ask for help. When I finally did get help, I enjoyed school more, got better grades and had more fun in class. It is my belief that every child is a learner, and that everyone should have equal access to education. No achievement is too small or too big to celebrate. Learning involves trial and error, making mistakes, and making progress every step of the way. In my free time I like to read classic books, play games with my family, try new coffee shops, and snuggle with my dog. Also, I love doing outdoor activities!
