I am a graduate of San Diego State University with a Bachelor's in Spanish Language and Literature. I minored in Latin American Studies. I then obtained a Master's in Education at the University of Maryland, focusing on Curriculum & Instruction. After that, I taught Spanish Levels 1-3 in a public school for a few years. I also have careers in Information Technology, Records Management, and Librarianship, having obtained my second Master's in Library Science in 2008. I then went on to become a children's librarian.
Currently, I am in the process of obtaining a post-graduate Certificate in TESOL at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. I have experience with informally tutoring colleagues at my job on various aspects of Spanish. I also have studied Russian on my own, although I'm still at a beginner level.
I believe I can achieve great success with a variety of students of all ages. I am most passionate about Spanish and ESL. I want to help English language learners who are new to this country achieve their goals through perfecting their English skills. I also am keen on helping students improve their Spanish grammar. I am an expert at various aspects of Spanish grammar.
Regarding Microsoft Office products, I have an expert level of use in MS Word. I have used it in office environments to produce desktop-publishing quality documents. I can tutor on tricky formatting such as tables, headers and footers, and sections. I worked in IT for several years and taught desk-side as well as group classes on MS Word.
