Hi, everybody, I am McKenzi! I currently live in Illinois near Chicago in the United States. I am a native English speaker. I started tutoring English in high school when I studied abroad. Currently, I have 5 years of tutoring and teaching experience in areas such as math, English, and even filmmaking. One of my main teaching ideas involves student-centered learning. Meaning I want always to tailor my instruction to student or classroom needs, helping students to find success in their strengths, work heavily on their weaknesses, and teach primarily in the learning style that the student or class is most successful in. For example, if a student or class learns best with visual means I would love to incorporate more of that so they can see the most improvement in their English learning experience! I also believe in the teaching idea that a student's or class's success is my success. I love seeing students succeed and doing my best to facilitate their progress so we can both celebrate their achievements. I get most excited when I see a student succeed at something they were struggling with! Finally, some words I would use to describe myself as an instructor include adaptable, results-driven, and empathetic.
