I hold a BA with honors in English, and I am currently pursuing my MA in English. I've worked as a writing consultant at my university's writing center, so I'm experienced in helping with essays in any subject, even subjects that I might not know much about-- I focus on quality and clarity of writing, and would rather work with you to help you grow than just do the work for you. I've also worked with the 826 program, working to tutor high school students in many subjects, and have had the chance to run several college essay workshops.

Outside of the "professional academic" world, I like to use my minor in writing creatively. I've been a writer for about ten years, and have won several awards (and recently had a poem of mine published!). Just like almost every writing tutor, I'm working on a novel (I work a lot in the fantasy and young/new adult genres).

I'm primarily a writing tutor, and I believe in writing as a means of deepening your own understanding. My personal expertise lies mostly in the arts and social sciences, but I love working in subjects I'm not as familiar with! If I'm not as familiar with the subject matter, it helps the person I'm working with break things down to a base level so they can show they understand the topic well enough to explain it to someone on the "outside," and I maintain this approach even when working with students in my field.
