Certified Tutor

Hi my name is Eddy from Colorado and I'm a rising junior at Johns Hopkins University majoring in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and minoring in Psychology! Growing up, I've always sought out opportunities to help others succeed and strive to make a difference in the world. I believe that education is one of the most important things in the world and should be taught in a manner that is enjoyable and encourages students to foster a passionate desire to learn more. I want to ensure the students that I work with are learning in a comfortable environment where they can grow in knowledge.

Rather than using a lesson plan where the student only listens to lecture, I encourage students to bring questions and material that confuses them so that I can clarify and solidify the content with practice problems. I also ensure that students have time to practice on their own and to review previous homeworks and tests so that they can prepare for future assignments and exams.

I've participated in a variety of math competitions, such as MathCounts, American Mathematics Competition 10/12, American Regions Mathematics League, American Invitational Mathematics Examination, and the University of Northern Colorado Math Contest. Additionally, I scored a 35 on the ACT and 1580 on the SAT, so I am very confident in teaching the material for both exams.

I'm available to work with any age group ranging from K-12 and can cover a wide variety of math courses from basic numbers to Calculus 3. I am open to any resources and suggestions from both students and parents and have a very flexible schedule. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
