As an educator with 20+ years' experience, I have devoted my career in promoting meaningful opportunities for my students to grow as learners. My degrees in Early Childhood Education, helped develop my style of instructing the whole child in Pre-K to Sixth grade classrooms.
Early on in my career I knew that the subject of Language Arts was the core of my teaching style. I love showing students fun ways to investigate the spoken word through approaches that develop Phonological Awareness, an indicator of future reading success. Through games and activities, my students develop their own awareness of the spoke word. Once mastered, exposure of various reading material strengthens my students writing. Language Arts is an umbrella that led my students to better understand the written word which in turn will assist them in all subjects.

Outside of tutoring and teaching in the classroom, I love spending time reading, easel painting, kayaking, and snorkeling. In my down time, I love playing word games such as Words With Friends and unwinding with yoga and listening to music.
