Certified Tutor

I am passionate about helping students to succeed in their classes because I know what it is like to be frustrated about not figuring something out like the answer to a reading question or math problem. I want to help students to succeed by being your guide in the process of figuring out the answers to you need help with. You, the student, are the one who steers the ship, and I will be along to encourage and be patient with you as you discover the answers you need. In the process of learning, I hope you come to love learning new things as much as I do.

Currently, I have experience working with both college and high school students, but I have also worked with middle schoolers as a tutor when I was in high school. I tutor English Language Arts, Writing, and Communication. I also have taken multiple fictional writing courses and Shakespeare courses as well. In June 2022, I will be graduating from Oregon State University with my Bachelor's Degree in English with Honors. In Fall 2022, I am moving onto to my Master's Degree in Education at Western Oregon University to become a high school English teacher. I love tutoring in Writing best because I like to give suggestions and watch students take off with their own ideas and writing style from just a few words. It is amazing to watch a student start with a vague idea of what they want to write, and I help them flesh it into an introduction or something like it.

Outside of academics, I like to read books for fun. I recently started reading a fantasy series called Dragonlance, which is a Dungeons and Dragons based world. I also like to watch movies and tv shows. The Marvel movies are really great, and I'm most looking forward to the next Doctor Strange film. I look forward to tutoring you!
