Certified Tutor

I received my Bachelor of Science in Biology with a focus on Cellular and Molecular Biology, and my Bachelor of Arts in French Studies from Duke University. I went on to receive by PhD in Microbiology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and then my Medical Doctorate (MD) from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. As a graduate student, I tutored undergraduate pre-medical, biology, immunology, and biochemistry students in microbiology, virology, and immunology. I am also currently teaching my 2 year old French as a second language through immersion, with my partner speaking English and myself speaking French. As an undergraduate, I also tutored undergraduate French students in beginner and intermediate courses. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Biology, Microbiology, and French. While I seek to tutor all students, I am willing to put in extra effort for the underserved, students from disadvantaged backgrounds, and non-traditional students such as myself formerly. I am a firm proponent of education and giving back to those from more challenging backgrounds such as myself, so please reach out. I appreciate all my students. In my free time, I enjoy reading science fiction books such as Dune and The Wheel of Time, doing karate, meditating, and playing basketball.
