Ralph: Antioch tutor
Certified Tutor
I am a recent graduate from a doctorate program in STEM Educational Leadership from the University of Hartford, in Hartford, Connecticut. I also have MS degrees in Secondary Mathematics Education for Culturally and linguistically Diverse Students and Industrial Engineering from the University of Connecticut and New York University, respectively.
I have been a STEM educator for the past 16 years working in different capacities as a middle, high school, and college math instructor, a middle and high school and engineering instructor and STEM coach. I currently teach upper high school math courses including Geometry and Data, AP Statistics, Precalculus, and college math prep courses.
I always embrace students' math struggles with enthusiasm and made the curriculum accessible and interesting to my audiences regardless of the rigor of it. I always make myself available to my students to remove learning gaps caused by absenteeism and content challenges. I have the most fun during my instruction when I can engage my students in project-based approaches that enhance collaboration among all students regardless their academic level and cultural backgrounds.
I am a STEM education enthusiast and a project-based learning (PBL) advocate. I do enjoy traveling, especially to the Caribbeans. In my spare time I enjoy researching new educational technologies, podcasting, working around the house, and biking.
