I have wanted to be a teacher ever since I was in second grade, mostly I think because I had such great teachers that made learning fun. I love to have fun with students and joke around with them, while still pushing them to do their best.
My favorite subjects are reading and science. Anything with reading- reading skills, writing, vocabulary, phonics, as a kid I couldn't get enough of reading, I would spend hours outside under my favorite tree reading, letting the worlds of those books take me on adventures.
I have had quite a bit of experience with our after school tutoring program, with my own students and other students in the school working to build their skills they might be struggling with, or kept moving forward with skills they excel in.
I currently am teaching third grade, which is my absolutely favorite grade. I've been a parapro in second and third grade, as well as a daily sub for k-6, and a long-term sub in both kindergarten and third grade.

Some things I love to do are reading, watching my favorite shows like Grey's Anatomy and Friends, and cooking. I have two cats, Ace and Sheba (who from time to time might try to pop into a tutoring session.) I love music and playing instruments, I've played the flute since I was in fourth grade, even played in the Flute Choir in college. I also play a little piano and guitar for fun.
