Throughout my time as an educator, I have worked with students that entered school lacking a strong sense of self confidence. I was that student, which is why I became an educator. I want every student to enter into the classroom setting (in person, or online) with the strong sense of their limitless capabilities.
I have worked with students who were saying they can't read, they can't do math, they can't write, they can't spell. Some students even tried avoidance techniques to avoid doing their school work. I can empathize with each of these scenarios. But what didn't change, is their desire to overcome those obstacles. Their desire to challenge themselves, their desire to tackle the hard stuff. Together, myself and my students, took those "I can't" statements and began to cultivate a community of "I can". I all starts with creating more of a personalized approach to student learning. As soon as the students begin to see that they can, and they can independently, it is amazing to see what we are able to accomplish!

There is nothing more that I love than spending time with family and my yellow lab. We often go on family walks in our neighborhood, because I love being outside and going on outdoor adventures. There is something some simplistic yet special about soaking up some sunshine with the ones you love. I find joy in the little things like reading a book with a cup of coffee early in the mornings, or going for a drive and singing at the top of my lungs! There is so much that I appreciate each day. The little things in life are what add up to the big things and I soak them all in as much as possible!
