The world benefits when people of all races, genders, and backgrounds receive an education. Understanding this, my parents taught me themselves. In me, they instilled passion, appreciation, and, above all, belief in the power of knowledge.
All the way from kindergarten until high school, I studied with my parents at home. They clearly did something right, because at age ten, I started college. At thirteen, I was in medical school. I became a doctor at seventeen.
My friends called me Doogie Howser, though I felt less confident than he always looked. I was never sure of my personal aspirations. All this time, I was only following my family's lead. At the end of his show, Doogie Howser left medicine. As I grew, I too changed careers and became an educator.
When I teach, I draw from my parents' in-depth techniques, my knowledge base, and the energy of my favorite professors and speakers. But my teaching style is all my own. For me, discipline goes hand-in-hand with encouragement. Building confidence matters just as much as building skills.
The best teachers are confident enough to guide and humble enough to learn. Whether it was kids from my community, friends from all age groups, classmates, family members, or happy clients, I've been teaching and learning from people all my life. That is why you will find that I ask a lot of questions before I begin to teach.
This gives us an opportunity to connect. You get to solidify what you understand so far, and I assess our starting point. I also cross-reference my knowledge and material with books you may be reading and classes you may be taking. Using this, we can formulate a study plan.
With dedicated work, we can create incredible results. As a professional, I want to accommodate you. Let's make progress.

Wellness is central to me. In my day job, I teach nutrition at locations in my community. All of my interests and hobbies help me stay well. I love to stay fit, cook with healthy recipes, and take care of my body. Exercising and eating right helps me focus. I run, hike, and dance. Yoga is my favorite as it involves both the body and mind. I find the most peace in creating meaningful artwork. Art is a state of being. Painting can be meditative and nurtures my mental health. Art gives me new ways to love the world.
