I am a firm believer in the notion that no one is a "non-math" person. When a student is given unique perspectives and is allowed to discover new concepts in an adaptable environment, mathematical ideas can really "sink" in. My personal style is to put less emphasis on rote and memorization (which can be overwhelming) while delving more into truly understanding what is being taught. This makes homework quicker and test time easier - especially for those who get stressed during exams. I recognize that every person learns differently, so we will take time to tailor our sessions to your learning style.
I graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and focused much of my studies in nonlinear dynamical systems, though I have a great love of many pure mathematics topics.
I look forward to working with you or your child to help you excel in class or at work!

Outside of mathematics, I love music (I studied music education years ago and am a classically trained pianist). I'm also a bit of a geek if it wasn't obvious. I enjoy video games, tabletop games, sci-fi and political books, anime/manga, and exercise. And for the record, I'm a Trekkie.
